30 SECONDS® Outdoor Cleaner and Vinyl Siding

If your white siding is beginning to look a little green, then it’s time to get rid of that mildew and mold. A quick and effective way to get this job done right the first time— is with our 30 SECONDS® Outdoor Cleaner.

Here’s what to do:

  • Mix 1 part 30 SECONDS® Outdoor Cleaner with 1 part water. For example: Mix 1 gallon of cleaner with 1 gallon of water to have a 2 gallon solution. If you purchased a Ready to Use Formula, then No mixing required. This product is ready to go.
  • Apply 30 SECONDS® Outdoor Cleaner when the surface is DRY. Let it saturate the area, and once it looks clean— it’s time to rinse everything away.
    • The saturation time will vary depending on the amount of buildup, and the porosity of the surface. A few minutes at most is all you need with vinyl siding, since vinyl siding is so smooth that all this gunk comes off like melted butter when you use our cleaner.

Here’s what to avoid:

You always have options with cleaning mold and mildew off of your vinyl siding and even outdoor furniture. There are lots of DIY websites that offer home-made recipes for outdoor cleaners. However, there can be irreversible damage if you use the wrong products. Avoid using any cleaning products like liquid grease remover, nail polish remover, or furniture polish or cleaners. Any of these products might damage the vinyl siding’s surface. Also, avoid using highly-abrasive scrubbers or steel wool; these, too, can cause damage.

Here’s what to expect with 30 SECONDS® Outdoor Cleaner:

Nate,

We often like to ask for a phone call and/or pictures to properly address any issues, but here is what we are pretty sure is going on.

It is pretty unlikely that 30 SECONDS would leave any bleach spotting, and more likely that you’re experiencing some uneven cleaning. Try re-applying 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner. Make sure to evenly and thoroughly saturate the surface, allow to sit about 5-10 minutes, and then rinse away. This should even out your results.

If you don’t think this is what you’re seeing, please give us a call, 503-669-1953, and we can troubleshoot your results together.

Let us know if this resolves your issue or any way that we can be of further help. Cheers!

Thank you for your question about cleaning a coated metal roof. 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner is safe to use on most all outdoor surfaces, including your roof.
We do recommend that you first test in a small area by applying a bit of cleaner, letting it sit for 5 minutes, and then rinsing away to see your results.
If there are any areas of exposed metal, be sure to rinse these areas well.
Once complete, you’ll have a spotlessly clean surface ideal for reapplying a new coating.
As always, you’re welcome to call or email directly if you have any further questions.

Will this product remove the chalky oxidation substance from my vinyl siding and windows?
Or could you recommend a product that will.

Hi Gary
Any outdoor vinyl siding is fine for 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner. If it is durable enough to be outdoors and exposed to the elements then it is durable enough for 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner.
Just as a precaution, we always recommend trying 30 SECONDS on a small inconspicuous area first, just to ensure the color is as permanent as one would like to believe.

As for the runoff, just follow the label and rinse any plant foliage within 10 minutes. Once it goes into the soil it breaks down, so there are no issues there.
We’ve been doing this since 1977, so if you have more questions, I can help.

What about a colored vinyl siding? You mentioned only white. Our siding is a light yellow. What about runoff on to the ground etc.
