Clean Your Awnings with 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner

Awnings are difficult to clean because they can be difficult to reach and you don't want to ruin the material. Simply spray on 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner, wait a bit, then hose off. Years of stains from algae, mold and mildew will rinse away.

We get asked about cleaning outdoor awnings, umbrellas and cushions a lot. We all know they get stained from algae, mold and mildew, and its hard to keep them clean in the damp and humid climates. Here's some helpful advice.

With all the different manufacturers of different materials and different pigmentation processes, its really hard for us to know exactly how your particular fabric will react. You will have to test a small inconspicuous area first. You will see if your material is colorfast within the first 10 minutes, and then decide if you want to proceed. Most fabrics that haven't faded in the sun, should be fine.

The next step is easy. Mix 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner according to the label. Saturate your fabric with the cleaner and rinse it, once it looks clean. Rinsing is key. You will want to ensure you rinse the material very well, and pay special attention to the stitching area. The cleaner can pool in the stitching grooves and could rot if left, over time.

The customer that has the blue awnings, was absolutely delighted. And the customer that sent this email, below, speaks for itself.

Hello, Just wanted to tell you that 30 Seconds Outdoor Cleaner is probably the best cleaning product I have ever used! It performed completely as promised and totally removed the black mildew stains on the white stripes of my outdoor awning, without discoloring the green stripes. I am so mad I did not take before and after photos.......the results are amazing and I couldn't be happier! I will recommend to all my friends and family!

Thanks, L.R.

Hi I’ve used 30 seconds for heaps of building projects, cleaning driveways, sandstone, tiles and concrete and decks and aluminium awnings, mould on the side of buildings, it’s worked like a charm.

I just had a major mould problem on my new $ 10.000 camper trailer after it got wet on a trip and hadn’t dried out properly, I thought the canvas was ruined, I got stuck into it with 30 seconds and a pressure cleaner and it came up like new again, thanks 30 seconds

How many gallons do I need to purchase for a large back deck and two smaller awnings?

Jessica Merly

September 13, 2017

Hello Debbie,
1 Gallon of our 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner Concentrate covers 220-660 sq ft depending on the porosity of the surface. A wood deck will get coverage somewhere near the middle of that, about 400-500 depending how dirty the surface is.
We hope that helps. If you need more information, feel free to give us a call at 503-669-1953 or contact info@30SecondsCleaners.com and we can help you figure out more specifically how much you need. Cheers!

Will it clean mold off of aluminum awning? How do you apply it?

Jessica Merly

September 18, 2017

Hello Mary,
Yes 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner will clean aluminum awnings! We do always encourage people to test on a small area first to test for results prior to use.
We offer both a concentrate, and a ready-to-use product, so it’s important that you follow the directions on the bottle. Simply apply the product, let sit 3-5 minutes (or more for deeper cleaning), bush if needed, and rinse away with your garden hose.
Thank you for your questions. Cheers!

Hi Darla,

Good question! 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner is made to tackle stains from Algae, Mold and Mildew and hasn’t been tested specifically against bird droppings. If we had to guess, we think it would work. If you do try it, please let us know and maybe even share some before and after pictures. Cheers!

Hello Carole,
It would be a good idea to start with a test patch to clean your awnings. Apply 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner, let sit for 5 minutes, and rinse away. This will show you the results to expect and make sure that your canvas is colorfast.
Next, simply follow the directions on the bottle for a like new clean on your awnings. We would love to see before and after pictures!
