You want to step outside? It’s a question we get asked all the time, and it’s not because anyone wants to quarrel. People frequently quiz us on how to clean outdoor awnings, umbrellas and patio cushions.
We get it. They’re hard to reach for a good cleaning and they often get struck with stains from algae, mold and mildew. It’s especially hard to keep awnings and patio cushions clean in damp and humid climates. And with so many different types of fabrics and colors out there, it’s hard to know how the fabric will react to cleaning products.
Here’s some helpful advice: Test a small, inconspicuous area with 30 Seconds Outdoor Cleaner. By testing a small area first, you’ll see if your material is colorfast within 10 minutes. Most fabrics that haven’t faded in the sun should be good to go.
The next steps are easy: Mix 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner according to the label, saturate your fabric with the cleaner and rinse. Rinsing is key, and you’ll want to do this once the area looks clean. Make sure you rinse thoroughly and pay special attention to the stitching area. The cleaner can pool in the stitching grooves, which is less than ideal.
